Born and raised in upstate New York, Joanna studied real life from a rich Ancestral heritage who settled the Country in the 1600's. She is a direct Descendant of the original settlers of the Schoharie County area of the Mohawk Valley. These were true pioneers During the Civil War, 13 male children from one Ancestor served in the militia. WWI saw the daring of one relative who served on a newfangled submarine but didn't make it home. WWII created local citizens of many kinds, all of whom returned to upstate New York as humble New Yorkers who rarely spoke about being heroes, now about being members of of the Greatest Generation. 

Joanna graduated Salutatorian in her High School years, won many scholarships and pre-entry to various New York Colleges and Universities, ultimately attending Cazenovia College for Women, as her Great Grandmother had many years before. 

Joanna's education is an exercise in flexibility, from earning a BS in Music with a double major in Voice and English, followed by M.Mus. Graduate studies, she then shifted gears earning degrees in Accounting and Business Management. These skills turned into becoming a CPA in the most prestigious firms before starting her own practice in Montgomery County MD, where she was also an Adjunct Professor of Accounting and spearheaded all the Tax Seminars for the Adult Education programming during her tenure.

Tiring of what she deemed the "unfair Tax Code" she retrained and became an outstanding Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Teacher via the largest, oldest association for that profession, the National Guild of Hypnotists where she maintains her membership to this day. 

Businesses flourish under her tutelage, first a Music Studio for vocal coaching where she taught for 14 years, then a CPA Practice she ran for 12 years, and then the Healing Arts businesses she's maintained for decades.

She operated the Original Venice Beach Hotel in Venice CA as a Boutique Apartment Complex for nearly 20 years, while maintaining a distinct and successful healing practice. 

With the rich entertainment value of Southern California at her fingertips, Joanna studied at the famed Westside School of Ballet and the historic Tap Academy in Santa Monica. She was a member of Nancy Roberts Dance Company performing in the Los Angeles area.

During that period, she invested in and supported the unique California Thoroughbred Racing community by owning many winning race horses (and a few that liked to come in last).  One  winners captured the Kentucky Derby Roses and earned Horse of the Year as well.  

She continues to own thoroughbreds of racing age in partnership with others, while adoring her own horse, Hattie, who won her first race and took Joanna directly to the Winners' Circle. Hattie, now 15, lives in the rural area of Maryland Horse Country and is, according to Joanna, the "love of her life". 

We can only imagine how many carrots and bales of hay have been enjoyed by many horses over the years due to her generosity. One of her fondest memories was being central to the Zenyatta years in California and having a front row seat to Jerry and Anne Moss' horse who captured the Breeders' Cup Classic.  Another special memory - being part of the group who saved Promethia, the daughter of the great Alydar.

Joanna, by special invitation, was a pioneer in the online digital platforms for Metaphysical and Energy topics, and created websites for many Writers and Writer Groups in Southern California while servinf as the Resident Astrology Writer for The Whole Life Times. She has penned hundreds of articles and newsletters for her own clientele as well as for prestigious online outlets.

She is one of the earliest documented "near death experiences" when, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident, she died while in the emergency room at what was then Andrews Air Force Base. She went to heaven, had a life review, and was given the choice to stay or return. When she re-entered her body - a feeling she claims was like being dropped from 20,000 feet above the earth - she was immediately psychic. No one was more surprised than Joanna. Although she, like her Father before her, and her Grandmother, loved and studied Astrology and Natural Healing, she had no intention nor desire to become psychic. But, as she says, the Lord had other ideas. 

For many years she downplayed that gift, until, as she tells it, during consultations with her clients, deceased relatives of those clients began showing up  at the appointment!  Joanna re-evaluated and felt compelled to help connect clients with their dear departed - a gift and skill she never talks about.  Many her clients find peace through her careful and caring messages from those beyond the veil.

Ms. Stevenson has served on many Astrology Boards,  and now practices both Western and Vedic Astrology, and embraces the concept that Astrology is the Divine Science, orchestrated by the Creator, and meant for good for those on Earth who are called to use this sacred knowledge to help understand themselves and others.

If asked, she will tell you the most profound work she does is within the realm of Hypnotherapy and in particular, Past Life Regression Therapy, where she guides her clients with love and care to the past life experiences that can help them heal from today's difficulties, so they may live the life God designed for them. 

Joanna is available by appointment for skillful, detailed readings, coaching, and guidance.  Beyond the personal help, she often works with business owners not only for self-discovery, but for improvement in the nuts and bolts systems and processes she learned through her own business ventures and CPA practice. She aims to bring cohesion and clarity to business people, so they can live their personal values within their businesses. It's a specialty that is in high demand, and although it's not cheap, it's worth the price tag for the business man or business woman who is stretched too thin and needs to reorient self and improve business efficiency.  A new pair of eyes, one with a CPA background and the gift of a sixth sense, is often what a business needs to regroup and grow.

She meets with hypnotherapy clients to help them with addictions, smoking, food issues,  pain, and general malaise. She combines EFT/Tapping and Bach Flower Remedies, Bio-feedback, and other noninvasive, safe, effective therapies that bring relief and healing to a myriad of human issues. Definitely ask her about your situation.
